About Us

Welcome to Room 1's Blog! We are a lively bunch of new entrants who are embarking on our lifelong learning journey at Hinuera School! Our class grows at different times of the year but we are starting off with three wonderful students! Team Players

In room one we focus on the key competencies and what it means to be a Hinni Kid.

We have been focusing on what it means to be a team player and how we can play nicely together.  One of the ways we can do that is by sharing.  We have been learning all about sharing, how we can share and how it makes us feel when we share.

Today we read a book all about sharing:

We then practiced our sharing skills...

We know that if we would like something we need to use our manners to ask.  For example we can say "Can I please play with that?"  we know it is ok and to be patient if someone replies "No sorry I am still playing with it, you can have it after me".

What are some of the other ways you share?

What can we do to help Hinuera Schools waste?

Today we looked at the waste audit done by the Enviro Team.

We decided there were a few things we could do in class to help to Recycle.  Here are our ideas!

Our Dads

On Friday we drew pictures of our Dads.  We also talked about our Dads to Mrs Butler!  We watched a video on youtube of the book 'My Dad'

Here are the pictures we drew of our Dads!  Pop into class to see what we said about our Dads...
