Welcome to Room 1's Blog! We are a lively bunch of new entrants who are embarking on our lifelong learning journey at Hinuera School! Our class grows at different times of the year but we are starting off with three wonderful students! We love sharing our learning so check out all of the fun things we get up to as we transition from Early Childhood education to Primary!

Fractions

In Room 3 we have been learning about fractions!

Here is a little video we watched to help us learn about halves and quarters...


Some things that we said we learnt about halves:

Julia "You cut it in half and you have to share it and make it fair."
Lucy "There is a whole, you chop it into halves and then another halves and its a quarter."
Olivia "If you have a heart and you cut it in half it will be half a heart"
