End of the Year

What a performance!  Well done tamariki on your exceptional performance at end of year assembly today!  I even had a few tears in my eyes after your item.  Boys I was amazed at your haka and girls your were true performers throughout!  I am so proud of all that you have achieved this year in Room 3.  You have shown respect for others, resilience when it has been tough and responsibility for yourself.  You should all be very proud!

I also want to thank students and parents for all of your kind cards and gifts.

Meri Kirihimete!

Shared Reading

Each day we read a big book.  This big book usually lasts us a week and we look at a range of different parts of the story.

We have been doing our big book using a website called 'Oxford Owl' and our VIP for the day turns the pages and points along.

This week our big book is based on the fairy tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.  We have discussed fairy tales and are using toontastic to retell a fairy tale of our choice!  I cant wait to share some of them with you!!!

We tried lifting two bags that looked the same. We tried carrying two shopping bags that looked the same and we tried pushing and pulling two big containers that looked the same. We filled and emptied the same jars and cups with sand to compare them.
