About Us

Welcome to Room 1's Blog! We are a lively bunch of new entrants who are embarking on our lifelong learning journey at Hinuera School! Our class grows at different times of the year but we are starting off with three wonderful students! We love sharing our learning so check out all of the fun things we get up to as we transition from Early Childhood education to Primary!

Mathematics

In Room 1 one of the first things we will be working on is increasing our knowledge of numbers!  Have a go at some of these counting songs!  If you are after ideas of how you can support your child with their number knowledge please feel free to contact me!


In room 1 we will work on our problem solving skills and having mathematical discussions which sometimes involve arguments and disagreements.  Check out Olive (a previous student in room 3) convincing her maths problem solving team that she had the right answer... She even justifies her response and helps others to understand her strategy!
